Plant problems · Light, heat and air · Any stage · Usually mild
Air too dry
What you see
- Leaves curl and feel thin and dry
- Seedlings and clones wilt easily
- The plant drinks a lot but grows slowly
Why it happens
Humidity much below the stage target (about 65 percent for seedlings, 50 to 60 in veg, 40 to 50 in flower) makes plants lose water faster than roots supply it.
What to do
- Add a humidifier or a tray of water near the plants
- Lower the temperature a little
- Use a humidity dome for seedlings
Next time
- Measure humidity at plant height with a cheap hygrometer
Easy to confuse with
- Underwatering: Leaves hang limp and soft, like they have no strength
- Heat stress: Leaves fold upwards along the middle like a taco
Not sure?
Take a photo of the whole plant with the hygrometer reading if you have one and ask the Grow Doctor, or send it to the grow companion on Telegram.
