Cannabis nutrient calculator

Pick the nutrient brand, the stage (seedling, veg or flower), the strength, your medium, how you water and the size of the tank. The calculator gives the exact amount of each part to add, the EC and PPM to aim for and the pH range for your medium.

How the amounts are calculated

Every feed chart is converted to a litre (1 gallon = 3.785 litres, 1 teaspoon = 4.93 ml). The amount per litre is multiplied by the strength (light 50%, medium 75%, full 100% of the chart), by the watering method (drip 90%, bottom feeding 95%, aeroponics 70%) and by the tank size.

Worked example

General Hydroponics in veg at medium strength, hand watering, 10 litre tank: FloraMicro, FloraGro and FloraBloom at 2.5 ml per gallon each become 0.5 ml per litre each, so 4.95 ml of each part. EC target 1.2, about 600 PPM; pH 5.5 to 6.5 in coco.

Frequently asked questions

How much nutrient per litre for cannabis?

Follow the brand feed chart for the stage, then scale it. The calculator converts every chart to ml or g per litre and applies the strength you pick (light 50%, medium 75%, full 100% of the chart) and the watering method (drip 90%, aeroponics 70%). Example: General Hydroponics FloraMicro in veg is 2.5 ml per gallon, 0.66 ml per litre; at medium strength 0.5 ml per litre, 4.95 ml for a 10 litre tank.

What EC should cannabis have?

It depends on the brand and the stage. For the General Hydroponics chart the targets are 0.4 to 0.8 for seedlings, 0.8 to 1.6 in veg and 1.0 to 2.0 in flower, light to full strength. The calculator shows the target for the brand and stage you choose, with the matching PPM.

What pH for cannabis in coco, soil or hydro?

Coco, hydro and perlite: 5.5 to 6.5. Soil: 6.0 to 7.0.

In what order do I mix nutrients?

Add each part to the water separately and stir in between, never mix concentrates directly. The calculator shows the order for each brand, for example Micro, then Gro, then Bloom for General Hydroponics.
