Harvest at peak
Log the harvest of each grow: wet and dry weight, the jar humidity and your rating. The page checks the dry to wet ratio and keeps the totals of all your harvests.
Reading the trichomes
- Clear heads: too early
- Cloudy heads: peak THC
- Amber heads: a more sedative effect
Dry weight from wet weight
A finished dry weight of 20 to 28% of the wet weight is the usual range: 500 g of wet buds give about 100 to 140 g dry. Above 28% the buds are still moist, keep curing; below 20% they are on the dry side.
Frequently asked questions
When is cannabis ready to harvest?
Look at the trichomes with a loupe: clear heads are too early, cloudy heads mark peak THC, amber heads give a more sedative effect. Breeder week counts are estimates; the trichomes decide.
How much dry weight do I get from wet weight?
Buds lose most of their weight while drying: a finished dry weight of about 20 to 28% of the wet weight is the usual range. 500 g of wet buds give about 100 to 140 g dry. Above 28% the buds are still moist and need more curing; below 20% they are on the dry side.
How do I dry and cure?
Dry slowly in the dark with gentle air movement, then cure in jars and keep the jar humidity steady, opening them regularly in the first weeks. Log the jar RH in the harvest page to keep track.
