Manganese deficiency
What you see
- Yellowing between veins on new and middle leaves with a thin green border along the veins
- Small brown spots can appear later
Why it happens
Manganese is locked out at a high pH and in waterlogged media.
What to do
- Correct the pH and let the medium dry between waterings
- Feed a complete nutrient with micronutrients
Next time
- Keep pH in range
- Avoid overwatering
Easy to confuse with
- Magnesium deficiency: Yellowing between the veins of older and middle leaves while the veins stay green
- Iron deficiency: The newest leaves turn pale yellow while their veins stay green
