Fusarium wilt
What you see
- Leaves yellow and wilt on one side or one branch first
- The plant does not recover after watering
- Inside the lower stem the tissue is brown
Why it happens
A soil fungus that blocks the plant's water vessels. It survives a long time in soil and pots.
What to do
- Remove and bin the plant and its soil
- Do not reuse the medium; clean the pot
- Keep the other plants dry at the base and well drained
Next time
- Use fresh medium
- Clean pots and tools
Easy to confuse with
- Underwatering: Leaves hang limp and soft, like they have no strength
- Root rot: The plant wilts even when the medium is wet
