Riego excesivo
What you see
- La planta entera se cae con hojas que se sientan firmes e hinchadas, no blandas
- La maceta se mantiene pesada durante días después de regar
- Las hojas se ponen amarillas y el crecimiento se ralentiza
- Los mosquitos del sustrato aparecen en la superficie
Why it happens
Las raíces necesitan tanto aire como agua. Regar con demasiada frecuencia, macetas sin drenaje o macetas demasiado grandes para la planta mantienen las raíces húmedas y con falta de oxígeno.
What to do
- Deja de regar hasta que la maceta se note claramente ligera al levantarla
- Asegúrate de que el agua drene libremente por el fondo
- La próxima vez, riega hasta que salga un poco, luego espera hasta que los primeros centímetros estén secos

- Levanta la maceta para sentir el peso antes de regar
- Usa macetas de tela o añade perlita para el drenaje
Easy to confuse with
- Deficiencia de nitrógeno: Lower, older leaves turn pale green, then evenly yellow from the tip inwards
- Riego insuficiente: Leaves hang limp and soft, like they have no strength
